2K Games has secured Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to lead the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the anticipated over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
Brinkman assumes the leadership position at 31st Union following the exit of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' underwhelming initial reveal last autumn.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated employees about this decision through an official communication, which highlighted that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a more defined vision.
The president noted that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed focus, aiming to better meet gamer demands.
This announcement echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to work on the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
Here is the entire text from Ismailer's communication:
Teamā
I understand you all just completed your town hall - I hope youāre as enthusiastic as I am with the recent updates.
